The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Stephen Williams announced this weekend that the Lincoln Parish Law Enforcement Training Center will officially open to the public on Sept. 7.

The ribbon cutting for the new facility occurred in late July, a building that will allow for greater versatility and use of the facility. The construction of the new building, complete with bathrooms, a kitchen area and meeting space, will allow for a variety of classes: conceal handgun, familiarization courses, tactical and more.

Located at 160 Old KOA Road in Simsboro, the new facility was built with Cares Act funding and will serve a need for not only the general public, but also local law enforcement agencies.  The facility includes three gun ranges of 50-, 100- and 300-yards, but the newest asset is a fully-conditioned building that will be able to host numerous classes and events.

The range will be open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays (excluding holidays, severe weather, and pre-scheduled law enforcement trainings).

Guests are required to provide their own eye and ear protection as well as their own ammunition.
