Road, parking lot closures announced at Tech

Beginning today, Louisiana Tech announced the plan to begin the removal of most of the high-mast light poles throughout campus. This project will be the last project focused on repair and recovery from the April 2019 tornado.

This work will require closing portions of Tech parking lots in several areas, including near Hale Hall, near Tolliver Hall, down Wisteria Street, behind the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center, and in the student lot near Sutton Hall and the large lot on Mississippi Street.

Some streets may also be closed to facilitate the project.

Traffic flow exiting Wisteria onto Railroad Avenue near George T. Madison Hall will be restricted during the late morning and early afternoon today as well.

Removing the poles may continue through Tuesday and to help ensure safety of Tech students, faculty, staff and visitors, the lots and streets closed until the project is completed.
