Students try Taste of Ruston

Businesses, groups and individuals in Ruston gathered at Louisiana Tech’s Quad yesterday as the Chamber of Commerce organized its annual Taste of Ruston.

The Taste of Ruston allows students to be introduced to businesses in the area. Businesses and restaurants set up booths in the Quad and show the options to students.

Raising Cane’s was one of the participating businesses, and active manager Walker Newton was on campus, showing his support for the community and Tech students.

“Our purpose is to keep getting our name out there and help promote things within the community,” Newton said.

The Raising Cane’s booth offered two large water jugs filled with sweet tea and lemonade.

“Tech is a big sponsor for Cane’s, and we partner with them every football season,” Newton said. “We will continue to show our support in all aspects of this university.”

On-campus organizations, such as fraternities and sororities, also participated in the event. Students walked about, enjoying the food and learning about various events taking place on campus.
