Arrest follows domestic call

A Ruston man was arrested Saturday after police responded to a call of a disturbance at a West Barnett Springs Ave. residence.

When Ruston officers arrived at the scene, they could hear yelling in the apartment. When they knocked on the door and announced their presence, someone inside yelled “help.” As officers attempted to force entry, Randy Roberson, 44, opened the door. He appeared to be irate and yelled repeatedly, “I did not touch her. She hit her head on the wall.”

While an officer remained with Roberson, another met with a woman inside. The victim’s right eye was swollen completely shut and a wound to her forehead was bleeding. The victim stated Robertson had hit her because he was drunk.

Numerous beer cans were found in the bedroom where bloodstains were seen on the mattress and on the floor beside the bed and several places on the wall

Ruston Ambulance Service responded to the scene and took the victim to North Louisiana Medical Center for treatment.

Roberson was arrested for domestic abuse battery and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

Roberson’s bail amount was not available at press time.
