The Grambling State University Department of Athletics unveiled its strategic plan on Tuesday.
“We are honored to share, ‘Together We Will,’ Grambling State University Athletics Strategic Plan, which builds upon the university’s extraordinary history and distinguished national brand,” said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Dr. Trayvean Scott. “‘Together We Will’ is about working collaboratively to be successful in all that we do – in the classroom, in competition and in our community.
“It’s about supporting the nearly 350 remarkable student-athletes, their passionate coaches, and the committed staff, fans, alumni and donors who support them each day. It will be a living document to accelerate the trajectory of our organization–It’s about pushing ourselves, and each other, to make each year more successful than the one before. It’s about working and winning as a team.”
Grambling Athletics’ strategic plan, which is now outlined on gsutigers.com is guided by a vision to build a championship culture and become the premier program in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) by implementing seven (7) guiding principles of success;
- Academic Success
- Impactful Student-Athlete Experience
- Competitive Excellence
- Community Spirit & Tradition
- Tiger Culture
- Enhance Resource Development
- Fiscal Management & Sustainability
“A bold vision and unparalleled fan support will be essential to grow into a national leader in college athletics,” said Scott. “Our success relies on every Tiger working together collectively. Internally, we’ve committed to building a culture by design, not one by default. Externally, I ask our #GramFam to support our student-athletes and coaches in the stands, consider a donation to support our path forward, and vocalize their pride and support for Grambling State University Athletics.”
It’s an exciting and historic time for Grambling State University Athletics and I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish TOGETHER!
Trayvean D. Scott
Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics
