Cedar Creek’s Dua named National Merit Semifinalist

Cedar Creek senior Devika Dua has been named a National Merit Semifinalist.

Dua is among rare company to say the last. National Merit Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring students in each state.

Dua, the daughter of Drs. Sumeet and Prerna Dua, is among approximately 16,000 students who have advanced to this level.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million.

Finalists are chosen after they submit a detailed scholarship application, in which they provide information about their academic record, participation in school and community service activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment and honors and awards received.

They must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school and be endorsed and recommended by a high school official.

Cedar Creek is proud of your hard work and dedication.
