Domestic call ends in arrest

A Choudrant woman was arrested Saturday after the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance in progress.

Deputies were advised Katie M. Bailey, 36, had called the sheriff’s office reporting her boyfriend was drunk and throwing things around the apartment and she had locked herself in a bedroom.

When deputies arrived, the boyfriend was found outside. During an interview, Bailey said she slapped her boyfriend after he called her a profane name several times. She then retreated into the bedroom and called 911. Bailey said the boyfriend had not been physical with her during the incident but had in the past.

The boyfriend confirmed the account, stated he was uninjured, and did not want to press charges.

Due to the nature of Louisiana’s domestic violence law, Bailey was arrested for battery of a dating partner. She was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
