Reception honors breast cancer survivors

The “I PINK I CAN” Pink Reception was held last weekend at the Lincoln Parish Library.  

More Than Conquerors Breast Cancer Support Group was the host for this event. They rolled out the pink carpet for breast cancer survivors for their grand entrance into the pink reception.  

Brenda Dupree emceed the grand introduction of the survivors as they made their grand entrance on the Pink Carpet. Twenty-five breast cancer survivors took the carpet and were honored by Grambling Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta, Inc.   

They received their official “Survivor” sash and pin, diamonds, roses, and other gifts.  

The Dusse’ Boutique, Ruston and The Attitude Boutique, Grambling provided entertainment with a Pink The Runway Fashion Show. Models ripped the pink carpet with fashions from the local boutiques.   

Dr. LaTosha Jackson Mollette, Nurse Practitioner Dapne Giles and Nurse Katie Hay Evans were the guest health care professionals and provided the audience with breast health care information. Beth Ward, owner of Just Like You Post-Mastectomy Boutique, introduced new fashions in bras and prosthesis, and Sodexo Magic Catering provided the food.
