Second arrest in campus fight

A second student has been arrested by Grambling State University police in connection with a September 29 altercation that left another student injured.

Jaquaris Donald, 19, was booked for simple battery Wednesday after the victim reportedly picked him out of a photo lineup as one of the persons who attacked him.

Just after midnight on the morning of September 29, GSU officers responded to Holland Hall where the victim stated he was attacked by several students, causing him bruises to the head and neck. The suspects could not be located at the time.

An investigator was assigned to the case and was able to identify Roberto Amaya, 19, as a party to the altercation. Amaya was questioned at the GSU Police Department and was arrested for simple battery last week.

Donald was questioned Wednesday and admitted participating in the incident.

Donald’s bail was set at $2,500.
