What started as a normal pregame show for Louisiana Tech football turned into a very nice moment for legendary writer Teddy Allen as State Representative Chris Turner from District 12 in Louisiana awarded a proclamation to Allen in a surprise fashion.
“People don’t fully know what Teddy does behind the scenes,” Turner said. “That was just a way for the House of Representatives to recognize constituents for how they help the community. I wanted to show appreciation for him.”
Allen was caught off guard but recovered nicely to continue the broadcast.
”I’ve seen (Rep. Turner) go out of his way time and again to help people and encourage folks,” Allen said. “He’s a day-to-day guy; not a prima donna or a one hit wonder. If he were a football player, he’d be the whole right side plus the tailback.”
