Three students were arrested at Grambling State University after a search of their room
yielded marijuana and paraphernalia used in its distribution.
A GSU residential housing staff member was conducting a walkthrough of Attucks Hall
when the strong odor of burning marijuana was detected from a dorm room. The staffer
contacted the GSU Police Department who responded to the scene. Marijuana was
seen in plain view in a shared area of the dorm room.
A search warrant was secured and executed at the room. Several bags of marijuana
and two digital scales were located.
Takviuntae Kidd of Homer; Brondon J. Kennerson, of Opelousas; and Parviz S. Scott,
Jr., of Denham Springs, all 18 years old, were arrested.
The trio were booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of
marijuana, possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, and possession of
drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set at $5,000 for each of the men.
