Lincoln Parish Museum to host second event since COVID shutdown

The Lincoln Parish Museum and Historical Society will host a presentation and viewing of the award-winning documentary, “Something Nobody Else Has…The Story of Turtle Trapping in Louisiana” (1984) as its second event after the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

The event offers participants footage of trappers with their toes in the mud groping for their prey while voicing the important ecological lesson they’ve learned – that to destroy the home and population of the turtles will destroy their own way of life.

The event will feature a presentation from one of the documentary’s writers and producers, Lee Abner as well.

The museum is located at 609 N. Vienna St. In Ruston, and the event is free and open to the public. For more information contact Rick Godley at 318-243-4681.
