The Ruston High Lady Bearcats fell Saturday afternoon to the Mt. Carmel Cubs in three sets by final scores of 25-7, 25-18, and 25-9.
Mt. Carmel advances after finishing with the No. 2 overall seed in postseason play.
“We had great moments today,” Ruston head coach Lucie Hunt said. “They had trouble hitting around our block, and we had some great touches. Mt. Carmel is very disciplined, consistent, and nothing hits the floor. We played with a lot of hustle and heart.”
The 2022 season ends for Ruston High after the Lady Bearcats entered the postseason with the No. 18 seed overall. Ruston won its first road playoff victory in program history Saturday with a three-set sweep of Terrebonne down in Houma.
