Tech has also gotten great production from their bench, averaging 24.7 ppg from their reserves, who have reached double digits in all seven games this season and posted 20-plus in five of seven.

Tech is looking for their third straight 6-2 start to the season.

Alcorn State (2-3) comes into Ruston with back-to-back wins over Arkansas Baptist (100-51) and New Orleans (65-56) after starting 0-3 with trips to Tulsa, Wichita State, and Illinois.

The Braves had a game slated with Central Arkansas postponed due to weather.

Alcorn State is led by head coach Nate Kilbert in his third year and are coming off a three-win season in 2021-22. The Braves were selected 11th (out of 12 teams) in the SWAC preseason poll.

Destiny Brown and Zy’Nyia White lead the offensive attack for Alcorn with 10.6 and 8.4 ppg, respectively.

Alcorn is averaging 62 ppg as a team while shooting 35 percent from the field and 25 percent from three. Defensively, the Braves are posting 8.6 steals and 4.2 blocks per game.
