Creek set to host Neill Kilgore Memorial Tournament

Cedar Creek School will host the annual Neill Kilgore Memorial Basketball Tournament starting Thursday and running through Saturday at the Brickhouse.

The three-day event includes seven girls teams and give boys teams. Participating schools include Creek (boys and girls), Calvin (boys and girls), Quitman (boys and girls), Haynesville (boys and girls), Saline (boys and girls), Haughton (girls only) and Lincoln Prep (girls only).

Below is the schedule for the tournament.

Game 1: Haughton vs. Saline 4 p.m. (Girls)

Game 2: Quitman vs. Haynesville 5:15 p.m. (Girls)

Game 3: Cedar Creek vs. Calvin 6:30 p.m. (Girls)

Friday

In last night’s action, both the Creek boys and girls prevailed over Glenbrook.

The Cougars defeated Glenbrook 51-32 behind 17 points by Carter Hill, nine from Davis Walsworth and seven from Brian Osborne.

The Lady Cougars won their game by a score of 61-13 behind Allie Furr’s 21 points and Elli Dickerson’s eight points. Lizzie McAdams, Lillian Soto and Ava Hartwell each added six points each.
