Louisiana Tech redshirt freshman running back Marquis Crosby was named to the honorable mention 2022 College Football News (CFN) Freshman All-American team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Crosby had a breakout season rushing for 918 yards and nine touchdowns on 183 carries. Crosby ranked sixth nationally among all freshmen in total rushing (918) and fourth among CUSA backs in yards per rush (5.0).

He eclipsed the century mark in rushing during four games this season, highlighted by a 197-yard rushing performance during the Dogs’ 52-17 win over Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 10. The Hattiesburg, Miss., product rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns at Charlotte, the most in a single game since Marcus Williams ran for four against Charlotte in 2021.

Crosby’s 918 rushing yards were the most in a season by a LA Tech player since Justin Henderson rushed for 1,062 yards in 2019.
