Jimmerson, McGuire wed

Lilla Mary Elise Jimmerson of Ruston, Louisiana, and Christopher Scott McGuire of Benton, Louisiana, were united in holy matrimony at 4:00 P. M. on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Roger Michael “Micky” Cloud. The bride was presented for Christian marriage by her father.

Lilla is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dalridge Jimmerson of Ruston. Lilla earned a B. A. in Speech-Language Pathology with an Audiology concentration and an M. A. in English with a Technical Writing concentration from Louisiana Tech University. She works as a technical writer for General Dynamics Information Technology.

Chris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kelly McGuire of Benton. Chris earned a B. S. in Marketing from Louisiana Tech University and works as an agent for New York Life Insurance Company.

For her wedding day, the bride chose an ivory crepe and Mikado silk gown from the Justin Alexander Signature Collection. The gown featured a Sabrina neckline with a ruched shoulder detail, a long-sleeved crepe bodice with asymmetrical pleating on the shoulder and a keyhole back, and a classic royal A-line skirt in Mikado silk with a chapel-length train accented with silk-covered buttons. She wore a cathedral-length veil accented with sequined lace from the fingertip to the hem and a silver headband with crystals and pearls in a floral-leaf pattern. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Playa Blanca garden roses, Royal Porcelina blush roses, and white spray roses accented by white lisianthus, waxflower, and parvifolia and silver dollar eucalyptus. The bride’s bouquet, the wedding party’s flowers, and the floral arrangements in the sanctuary were designed by Lori Golden.

The bride was attended by Allison Brister Burkhardt as matron of honor and Hannah Mae Myles as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Kelly Lynn Doughty, Samantha Hawthorne Kennedy, and Adela Marie Trevino. The flower girl was Adelyn Louise Bridge, the bride’s cousin. Chloe Elise Green and Madeline Elizabeth Robison, also cousins of the bride, attended the guest book.

The groom was attended by best men Kody Duane Chapman and Michael Chad Johnson. Groomsmen included Demarria Danzell Green, Andrew Griffin Cole, and Jacoby Jerome Thornton. The ring bearer was Henry Delano Fauber, the groom’s cousin. Another cousin of the bride, Maxwell Gregory Braswell, and Preston Ryan Gray served as ushers.

Musicians for the wedding ceremony included pianist Jeanne Dickson Patterson, organist Deborah McClung Guillory, and vocalist Chanley Ellen Patterson. Mary “Duddy” Garrett served as the church’s wedding coordinator, and Karen Malone Webre, and Lisa White Owens assisted her.

Following the ceremony, a reception with dinner and dancing was held at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant under the direction of the club’s event coordinator, Lane Titus. Chef Matt Voorhees supervised the dinner, and Heather Bailey of Social Bites created both the bride’s and the groom’s cakes. Lilla’s cake was a five-tiered Italian cream cake topped with fresh flowers, while Chris’s cake was a two-tiered strawberries and cream cake in a Star Wars theme. The venue was decorated with floral creations by Lori Golden. The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra of Savannah, Georgia, provided the music and entertainment. To conclude the reception, the orchestra’s horn section led a New Orleans-style second line, and guests blew bubbles to send off the happy couple. Lilla and Chris departed the reception in a vintage Mercedes owned and driven by Kelly Kyle.
