Elizabeth June McKneely Morgan, 80, of Edmond,OK, left this life on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022. Her new Life is victorious over a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
June was born June 20, 1942 in Houma, LA to E. Leighton and Lucile Jackson McKneely. She grew up in Ruston. She was a graduate of Ruston High School, class of 1960. She began her college education at Louisiana Tech and graduated with a BS degree in education from Arizona State University. Her teaching career was in Phelps County, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Johnie Derald Morgan, and four children: Laura Elizabeth Naff (Tracy), Edmond, OK; Kimberly Ann Webb (Michael) of Rolla, MO; Rebecca Ruth Ware (William,deceased) Richardson, TX; and John Derald Morgan Jr. (Carolina) of Ft. Worth, TX and Arlington, TX.
Her surviving siblings include her brother, Ronny McKneely of Ruston, and her sister, Rebecca Hogg (Bill),also of Ruston.
The Morgans have ten grandchildren: Beth Allen (Clark); Harrison Naff (Aurora); Hannah and Hayley Naff; Braden, Macy, and Lucas Ware; Johnie and Samuel Morgan; and Leighton James Morgan. Also two great grandchildren: Blake Elizabeth and Camden Edward Allen.
June was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Philip Borthacyre; and one brother, David Jackson McKneely.
Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla, MO, on Thursday, Dec.15, at 1:30pm. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30pm before the service. Burial will follow in the Rolla Cemetery. All arrangements are under the care of Wilson Mortuary, Salem, MO. The service will be livestreamed on the Wilson Mortuary FaceBook page.
