Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosts February Executive Speaker Series event

Ruston, LA – The Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted its second Executive Speaker Series event, sponsored by Origin Bank, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Louisiana Tech University’s Davison Athletics Complex. The featured speaker was Stephen Waguespack, President and CEO of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI).

Waguespack discussed LABI’s role as a business advocacy organization that works toward fostering a climate for economic growth. During the event, Waguespack discussed key issues that affect businesses in our state and shared insight into LA23, a bold initiative to position Louisiana as an economic leader in the South by the year 2030.

“It’s critical to have energized chamber partners, and I want to thank everyone who attended this event to engage in a discussion about Louisiana’s economic climate and strategies for driving development across the state,” said Stephen Waguespack, President and CEO of LABI. “I want to thank Will Dearmon for spearheading this Executive Speaker Series and for the leadership and
energy that he brings to the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber. I look forward to collaborating with the Ruston-Lincoln Parish business community as we continue our work to make Louisiana an economic leader in the South.”

The event featured a 30-minute presentation from Waguespack and a question-and-answer session moderated by William Dearmon, President and CEO of the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber.

Dearmon and Waguespack discussed a range of topics, including workforce trends, Louisiana’s upcoming elections, LABI’s strategic plan for growth, and more. “We’re excited about this ongoing series that provides the opportunity for our local business
leaders to connect with state and regional leaders about important issues facing our state,” said Dearmon. “2023 is shaping up to be a transformative year for our state, and with partners like LABI, I’m confident we can all work together to guide Louisiana toward a prosperous future.”
