A Ruston man resisted attempts to arrest him on an active warrant after Ruston Police responded to a disturbance call Monday.
Officers responded to Edgewood Street Monday afternoon where Edward E. Jackson, 48, was reportedly yelling at people in a neighbor’s yard. Even after officers arrived, Jackson continued to yell at the people from the roadway.
An active warrant from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office was located and officers attempted to arrest him. According to an officer’s report, Jackson forcibly resisted after one handcuff was applied. Once handcuffs were secure, Jackson refused to get into a patrol car and eventually relented and complied.
Jackson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for resisting an officer, disturbing the peace, and the LPSO warrant.
Jackson had not posted bail as of Tuesday afternoon.
