The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Richland, Miss., man early Monday morning on a variety of traffic and drug charges.
A deputy traveling on Tech Drive saw a vehicle traveling at an apparent high rate of speed about 1:30 a.m. Monday. After the vehicle was stopped, the odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside.
A records check of the driver, Hazan D. Retana, 20, showed he was wanted on five warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court.
No contraband was found in a search after Retana’s arrest.
During booking at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, Retana admitted he had marijuana hidden on his person.
Retana was booked for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no license plate light, and for the five warrants for theft less than $1,000, DWI-second offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and improper lane usage.
Bail was set at $16,000.
