Protective order violation leads to arrest

A Choudrant man was arrested Monday after he reportedly violated a court-mandated protective order attached to his bail conditions from a previous arrest.

About 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, Lincoln Parish deputies responded to a Edwards Road residence where a woman said her husband was having a psychotic episode and was acting aggressively toward her.

A record check showed an active supplemental order of bail which prohibited Walter C. Freeman from having abusive contact with the victim. Walter C. Freeman was arrested several months ago for domestic abuse battery against the same victim. The victim told deputies Freeman was arguing with her and had to come after her with a golf club. She said he was out of control, and she could not take it anymore. Freeman was arrested for violation of the protective order and booked at the Lincoln Parish detention Center.

Bail was set at $5,000.
