After falling 14-1 to Newman Thursday night, the Cedar Creek Cougars will continue play in the Trey Altick Memorial Tournament today and tomorrow.
The Cougars are hosting games at their home park as Creek plays Stanley at 7 p.m. today and then will play Weston at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Cedar Creek (1-5) managed just two hits in Thursday night’s loss, singles by Drew Wade and Parks McConnell. Jordan Vail drove in the only run of the night, drawing a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the third to plate Noah Durrett.
Vail took the loss on the mound, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. JB Robinson was solid in relief, allowing just two runs on four hits with three strikeouts over the final 3.0 innings of action.
