Graveside services for Laura Juanita Mitchell Ogden, age 85 of Ruston, LA will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Friendship Cemetery in Shuler, AR with Rev. Bruce Bennett officiating. Burial will be held under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM, Sunday, March 5 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
Laura was born January 22, 1938 in Hammond, LA to Vanada Lee and William Willie, and she passed from this life February 28, 2023 in Ruston. She was a strong, loyal, loving mother, grandmother and friend. Laura especially loved her grandchildren passionately and selflessly. Being “MawMaw” was one of her most treasured roles in life. She worked for the Louisiana Tech University library as a devoted civil servant for over 30 years. Laura was preceded in death by her two dearly loved grandchildren Ashley Bennett DeJean and Chase Bennett.
Left to cherish Laura’s memory are her children: Bruce Bennett and wife Teresa, Alan Bennett and wife Evelyn, Steven Bennett and wife Sharon, Laura Lee and husband Roy Roberson and Barry Mitchell and wife Ellen; grandchildren: Adam Bennett, Meredith Bennett, Shelby Bennett Dubé, Preston Bennett, Matthew Crawford, Madison Crawford, Mitchell Crawford, Mary Lauren Mitchell, Anna Marie Harrod and Abby Faith Harrod; great-grandchildren Molly DeJean and Leo Dubé; and a host of family and friends.
