Members of the Bulldog Aquatic Club coached by Rocky Smith had athletes that competed at the Louisiana Spring 14 and Under State Championship Swim Meet in Baton Rouge in late February.  

The fastest 14 and under swimmers in that state competed in age groups of 10 and under, 11-12, and 13-14.

“The athletes really competed well,” said Smith. “We were all excited by the individual and relay performances.  These athletes have worked hard in preparation for this competition.  I think their hard work definitely paid off.  I look forward to watching these young athletes develop.”

Joseph Amiano tied for the high point award in the Boys 11-12 Division after winning the 50 butterfly, the 100 butterfly and the 50 freestyle and finishing as the runner-up in the 100 individual medley and the 200 individual medley.

Camdyn Napper won the 200 butterfly and the 200 breaststroke in the Boys 13-14 Division.

Amiano, Napper and JJ Hoover all earned all-state honors.

10 and Under Girls

Mikayla “MJ” Colvin (10): 10th in the 100 backstroke, 11^th in the 50 butterfly,  9^th in the 200 freestyle, 20^th in the 100 freestyle, 8^th in the 50 backstroke, and 17^th in the 50 freestyle. 

11-12 Girls

Amelia Constanza (12): 33^rd in the 100 individual medley, 16^th in the 100 backstroke, 16^th in the 50 butterfly, 14^th in the 100 butterfly, and 11^th in the 50 freestyle. 

Emily Xu (12): 37^th in the 100 individual medley, 24^th in the 50 butterfly 32^nd in the 100 freestyle, 31^st in the 50 breaststroke, and 18^th in the 50 freestyle. 

13-14 Girls

Bre Senn (13): 29^th in the 50 freestyle. 

The girls were 17^th in the 400 freestyle relay and 17^th in the 200 freestyle relay. 

11-12 Boys

Joseph “G” Amiano (12): 2^nd in the 100 individual medley, 1st in the 50 butterfly, 2^nd  in the 100 freestyle, 1^st in the 100 butterfly, 2^nd in the 200 individual, and 1^st in the 50 freestyle. 

Tristan Nassar (12): 15^th in 50 breaststroke and 13^th in the 50 freestyle. 

13-14 Boys

John “JJ” Hoover (13): 6^th in the 400 indivdiual medley, 2^nd in the 200 butterfly, 10^th in the 200 breaststroke, 3^rd in the 100 butterfly, 9^th in the 200 individual medley, and 9^th in the 100 breaststroke. 

Camdyn Napper (14): 2^nd in the 400 individual medley, 1^st in the 200 butterfly, 1^st in the 200 breaststroke, 2^nd in the 100 butterfly, 3^rd in the 200 individual medley, and 3^rd in the 100 breaststroke. 

Paul St. Cyr (14) was a relay swimmer.

The boys’ relays were 10 in the 400 freestyle relay, 7^th in the 400 medley relay, 8^th in the 200 freestyle relay, and 7^th in the 200 medley relay.
