
A Grambling man arrested by Ruston Police Friday night was found to be an alleged convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Christopher L. Maryland, 20, was stopped on Clinton Circle in southeast Ruston about 9:00 p.m. Friday. A records check showed he was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court for flight from an officer and theft of property valued less than $1,000.
Maryland was arrested and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a semi-automatic pistol under his seat. His criminal history reportedly showed previous drug convictions.
Maryland was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm and the two warrants.
Bail was set at $16,000.
