Pennsylvania native wins Karl Malone Toyota Bracket Contest presented by Martin Presence

Pittsburgh native Joe Brinsky was the winner of the inaugural Karl Malone Toyota Bracket Contest presented by Martin Presence.

Out of more than 100 contestants, Pennsylvania native Joe Brinsky was the winner of the Karl Malone Toyota Bracket Contest presented by Martin Presence.

Brinsky, a Bethel Park resident, garnered the $1,000 prize Monday night when the UConn Huskies defeated San Diego State to claim the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball title.

“Thanks to the Lincoln Parish Journal, Karl Malone Toyota and Martin Presence for the generous prize,” said Brinsky.

No. Thank you, Joe!

With this year’s tournament featuring three first time participants in the Final Four in Miami, Florida Atlantic and San Diego State, brackets were busted early and often during this year’s tournament.

Brinsky was the only participant out of more than 100 that picked UConn to win the national title. And his out-of-the-box pick paid off when the Huskies won every game by double figures on their win to the program’s fifth national title.
