The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office has reportedly made an arrest in its investigation of fresh blood found in a trash dumpster on U.S. 80 Friday.
Deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. 80 and Pleasant Grove Road after a citizen observed a large amount of blood in one of the dumpsters located there. Detectives responded and processed the scene and took statements from witnesses.
It is believed the blood within the dumpster came from an animal. Late Saturday, LPSO acknowledged the case involved the Friday night arrest of Brady S. Mock, 24, of Monroe, for aggravated cruelty to animals.
The dumpster is part of a Lincoln Parish Police Jury “megasite” containing numerous trash dumpsters east of Choudrant.
Early Friday, LPSO posted requests to social media seeking video from residents on U.S. 80 between Choudrant and Ouachita Parish who have surveillance cameras facing the highway.
The investigation is still underway, and the Sheriff’s Office anticipates providing more details today.
