Ruston Police arrested a man April 1 after a call to a local pharmacy regarding a person loitering in the area.
A man who identified himself initially as Carlos Harris had reportedly been loitering around Walgreens on West California Avenue the previous night and that morning. When asked for his full name and date of birth, the man stated he did not have to provide anything.
The man was told he was being detained for loitering, but he continually refused commands to get off his bicycle and to identify himself. When officers attempted to remove him from the bicycle, he tightened up and began to pull away. A Taser was used to subdue him.
The identification in his wallet showed his real name was Mark Anthony Dailey. A small bag of methamphetamine and a pill bottle containing hydrocodone with another person’s name were found. He was discovered to have two pocket knives on him after stating he had no weapons.
Dailey was booked for resisting an officer, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of hydrocodone, a Schedule III controlled substance.
Bail was set at $30,500.
