An assistant basketball coach at the Lincoln Preparatory School has been arrested on charges involving indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Ariel Williams, 24, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested Monday by Grambling Police on warrants charging her with carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. As of Tuesday evening, she remained in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center with bail set at $30,000.
GPD Police Chief Tommy Clark said in a press release that a juvenile reported to a school administrator that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with a female coach.
Clark said police learned Williams and the juvenile began a texting relationship in 2022. Numerous encounters then occurred, allegedly leading to sexual encounters off campus.
Williams was terminated from Lincoln Prep yesterday.
Williams is a former Grambling State University women’s basketball player. She played for the Lady Tigers from 2017 to 2021.
