Jed Stephens and Gray Worthey led Cedar Creek’s boys golf team to a fourth place finish in the Division IV state tournament at Bayou Bend Country Club in Crowley Tuesday.
The par 70 course played 6,105 yards.
The Cougars finished behind state champion Episcopal Acadiana (610), Ouachita Christian (628) and Quitman (631) with a team score of 652, besting Ascension Catholic (656), Anacoco (663), Catholic Pointe Coupee (677) and Vermillion Catholic (684).
Creek was just one stroke out of third and four strokes out of second after the first day of competition.
Stephens finished eighth with a two-round total of 151 (73-78) while Worthey finished 12th with a 153 (78-75). Triston Floyd finished 24th with a 168 (88-80) while Parker Bush finished 45th with a 187 (92-95). Alex Roebuck shot a first round 85 before having to withdrawal from the competition.
Christ Episcopal’s Logan Heltz won the individual state title with a total of 136 (67-69).
