
Ruston Police arrested a man Thursday after he allegedly struck his sibling with a rock, knocking the sibling unconscious.
Officers responded to the Emerald Trace Apartments in southeast Ruston shortly after noon Thursday regarding two people fighting. An officer saw a man walking out of the apartment complex with a large rock in his hand. The officer then encountered an individual with blood on his shirt and bleeding from his ear. The individual said the man with the rock, his brother, hit him in the head with the rock.
Joshua Williams, 19, was detained without incident. The victim was found to have passed out near the apartments. He was taken by ambulance to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center emergency room.
Joshua Williams was asked what happened. He said he was going to “take his charge” and had nothing he wanted to say. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for aggravated second degree battery.
Bail was set at $50,000.
