Graveside services for Mr. Gerald Keith Chatham, age 65 of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham. Burial will be held under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
Keith was born October 30, 1957 in Ruston to Estelle Cartwright and Marvin Chatham and passed away May 13, 2023 in Ruston. He enjoyed all sports including baseball, football and especially fishing. Keith fished whenever he could. He worked at Walmart for 20 years, was a Community Bridges resident and was a part of the Benton Street family. Keith enjoyed listening to country and western music. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lurl Callaway; great-niece Skylar Emory; other family Kent McConkey; and two brothers-in-law Felton Emory and Billy Van Callaway.
Keith is survived by his sister Sue Emory of North Richland Hills, TX; nephew Mark Emory and wife Cherie of Bedford, TX; three nieces: Lisa McConkey of Keller, TX, Jan and husband William Fuller of Ruston and Amy and husband Wade Carter of Farmerville, LA; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; and a host of other family and many friends.
The family would like to thank the Community Bridges staff, the Benton Street House, Alpine Rehabilitation Center staff and nurses and, especially, Marilyn Monroe, Sandra Hewitt, Christian Smith and Kiewanda McNeal for their compassion and their care over the past few months.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
