Two arrested for shoplifting on consecutive days

Two women were arrested by Ruston Police Saturday after they allegedly shoplifted at a Ruston retailer two days in a row.

The staff at Ulta identified Antrancka Butler, 28, and Danneshia George, 21, both of Monroe, as shoplifting both Friday and Saturday. Employees told police they had video evidence that the two concealed over $3,500 worth of merchandise on Friday.

Both admitted being in the store Friday but denied taking anything.

On Saturday, they reportedly concealed an item worth $132 but then put it back. Butler said she did conceal the item but then got nervous and put the item back and that George was not aware she had concealed it.

Both were arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for one count of theft of property under $1,000 and one count of theft of property over $1,000.
