For a third straight year, Louisiana Tech’s Jonathan Fincher was rewarded for his work in the classroom by being named to the Conference USA Baseball All-Academic Team.
In doing so, Fincher becomes one of just seven players in C-USA history to be a three-time C-USA All-Academic member (joining former teammate Steele Netterville).
Fincher graduated in the spring of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry while having a cumulative GPA of 3.89. He is currently pursuing a second degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences in which he has a cumulative GPA of 3.92.
The Shreveport native is a two-time Academic All-American and now a three-time Academic All-District selection. He is also a four-time C-USA Academic Medalist and four-time C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient.
On the mound, the left-hander ranks in the top five in program history in career wins (27), innings pitched (320.2), and strikeouts (314).
LA Tech has had 13 total C-USA All-Academic Team selections since joining the league in 2014, the most of any league school during that span.
