Deputies responding to call find marijuana, gun

A Ruston man was arrested Friday night after the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential alarm on South Barnett Springs Street.

Two LPSO deputies arrived to find a Dodge Charger parked in the driveway. Rasheed Proctor exited the vehicle and approached them. The deputies detected the odor of burning marijuana and saw loose marijuana on Proctor’s clothing.

Proctor was placed under arrest and admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A search was conducted which resulted in the discovery of several bags of marijuana, small empty plastic baggies, rolling papers, a container of suspected THC wax, and a Glock pistol.

Proctor was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $7,500.
