The Grambling State University Department of Athletics has announced Kyra Collier as the new Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach.

Prior to joining Grambling State University, Collier served as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Pensacola State College. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in leading the team to become one of the NJCAA’s top 25 teams. Collier’s responsibilities included organizing team practices, scouting opponents, and analyzing game footage to develop effective strategies.

Collier’s passion for basketball and dedication to excellence were evident during her time at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2020. As a student-athlete, she served as the team captain during her junior and senior years. Her skills and leadership abilities contributed to the team’s success, including securing back-to-back SBC championships. Collier’s outstanding performance earned her first and second team honors, and she etched her name in UA Little Rock history as only the second player to achieve both 1000+ points and 500+ rebounds.

As the new Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, Collier will play a pivotal role in developing and mentoring student-athletes, implementing strategic game plans, and fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the court.
