
Ruston Police arrested a local man Monday after he allegedly attempted to steal items from a beauty store and then assaulted the employee who stopped him.
Officers responded to Five Star Beauty on the North Service Road about 11:20 a.m. Monday regarding a report of a theft. The store reported a man fled on foot after assaulting an employee and provided a description. An officer located Adrian Jackson, 56, of Ruston, nearby.
The victim told police Jackson was seen placing two cordless trimmers in his jacket pockets. When the victim confronted Jackson, he struck the victim on the side of the head and on both sides of his body. The victim was able to retrieve the merchandise before Jackson left the store. Jackson reportedly sustained a scratch on his right arm.
Jackson was questioned and while he did not admit to taking the items, he said he received his injury during the altercation.
Jackson was booked for simple robbery at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
