Man fights police after domestic incident

Grambling Police arrested a Ruston man last Tuesday after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend and then fought with officers.

Officers responded to Greene Lane Tuesday after regarding a domestic call. Several people were found standing in front of an apartment. An ambulance was requested for Keyonte Plasencia, 24, who was bleeding from the mouth. Plasencia refused to provide identification and cursed officers. GPD Chief Tommy Clark attempted to detain Plasencia who fought back until he was taken to the ground.

A woman told officers she was sitting in her apartment talking on the phone when Plasencia attacked her for no reason. She said he choked her until she nearly passed out and kicked her in the stomach and back. Fearing for her life, she struck Plasencia in the mouth with a bat. Only then did he stop beating her.

Plasencia was taken to Northern Louisiana Medical Center for treatment and later booked for domestic abuse battery by strangulation, resisting an officer, and disturbing the peace. His bail amount was not available.
