The city of Grambling held its annual Juneteenth pageant last Friday, and a new queen was crowned. 

Charity Willis was crowned Miss Juneteenth 2023. Chatavia Jones received the title Miss Junior Juneteenth 2023, and Evangeline Rhodes was named Little Miss Juneteenth 2023. 

The pageant was held at T.H. Harris Auditorium on the campus of Grambling State University. 

In 1982, the Miss Juneteenth Pageant was started by several citizens of the Grambling community. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, in conjunction with the City of Grambling, host this event during the Juneteenth festival.
