The 2023-24 Louisiana Tech men’s basketball roster nears completion as head coach Talvin Hester announced Tuesday the signing of Jaylin Henderson, a transfer from Seward County Community College.
Henderson, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard from Wichita, Kansas, spent a total of three seasons in Liberal, Kansas at Seward County where he averaged 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game for his career with the Saints.
“This class is really coming together and with the addition of Jaylin we have almost finished up,” said Hester. “He fits us in so many ways as his speed and athleticism will help us on both ends of the floor.”
This past season was Henderson’s best where he did it all, averaging 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per contest. He started in 30 of 31 games at SCCC, shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from three-point range.
He had 21 double-digit scoring games, including nine games of 20+ points with his best performance coming against Dodge City CC where he tallied 27 points.
Before going on to play for the Saints, Henderson starred at Wichita West High School where he averaged 16.4 points and 2.4 rebounds per game as a senior.
