The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed this week that two former Louisiana Tech students were the victims of a fatal plane crash late Thursday night.
Former Bulldog football letterman Stuart Scurria, 32, and Brad Terral, 55, both passed away as a result of injuries when the Beech 36 Bonanza single-engine plane they were flying in crashed in Rayville. Both men attended Louisiana Tech University during their academic careers.

Last Friday, the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about an aircraft disappearing from radar. Deputies were given the last known location of the aircraft and began a search.
RPSO deputies found the airplane in a cornfield about one mile southwest of the John H. Hooks, Jr. Memorial Airport in Rayville. According to RPSO, the two occupants of the airplane were both deceased.
Officials identified the aircraft as a Beech 36 Bonanza single-engine airplane.
The Sheriff’s Office said the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash but no specifics have been released yet.
Scurria was a member of the Louisiana Tech football team in 2009 and 2010 after prepping at Delhi Charter High School.
