A man stopped for a traffic violation Friday was arrested on numerous outstanding warrants as well as drug charges.
Shaquille D. Williams, 29, of Ruston, was stopped for excessive window tint by a deputy with the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office. He could not produce a driver’s license and a records check revealed his license was suspended and nine warrants existed for his arrest.

A search of Williams’s car discovered marijuana and a tablet of suspected ecstasy. A check of the window tint showed it was 10% darker than allowed by Louisiana law.
Williams was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for the nine warrants for two counts of possession of marijuana, flight from an officer, no insurance, expired license plate, three counts of no driver’s license, and improper headlights.
Charges from the traffic stop included possession of marijuana-third offense, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (ecstasy), possession of drug paraphernalia, improper window tint, and driving under suspension.
Bail was set at $47,500.
