With temperatures reaching triple figures this week, the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering free fans (while supplies last) to needy parish residents.
The forecast is calling for six straight days of 100-plus temperatures in the area, making the drive an important function in our parish.
“Thanks to some generous donations we have plenty of fans to give away this summer,” said LP Sheriff Stephen Williams. “Several churches , community groups and individuals have donated fans this summer. Hopefully we can get these to the people who really need them during the intense heatwave.”

The Rotary Club of Ruston worked with Lowe’s recently to donate 30 fans to the LPSO fan drive.
“The LPSO provides so much for the residents of Lincoln Parish, and we were glad to be able to help with this community initiative,” said the Rotary Club of Ruston Facebook page.
The program is eligible for Lincoln Parish residents only. Interested parties should contact Sgt. Iris Winston at 318-251-6440 or can stop by the main office located at 161 Road Camp Road in Ruston.
