A Monroe man was arrested Friday after he allegedly cashed stolen checks at two Ruston banks.
Felton R. Whittley, Jr., 62, reportedly went to two banks with checks apparently stolen from a Ruston business.
Ruston Police were first called to Louisiana National Bank on Farmerville Highway after staff determined a check presented by the suspect was fraudulent. Police found Whittley inside the nearby Century Next Bank where he had cashed another check.
When asked if he had presented a check at Louisiana National Bank, Whittley said he could not remember. His presence at Louisiana National was confirmed by surveillance video.
During the investigation, police learned the checks had been stolen from a business on nearby Haddox Road.
Whittley was booked for two counts of bank fraud and two counts of theft.
