Woman charged with riding grocery cart while drinking beer

Ruston Police arrested a woman Saturday morning after receiving a complaint she was drinking alcohol inside a grocery store.

The manager of the Shoppers Value Food Store on Dan Reneau Drive told officers the woman was inside the store drinking from a can of beer. Officers found Dorissa Reynolds, 37, of Ruston riding around the store on an electric shopping cart while consuming a 24 ounce can of Modella Malt liquor.

It was determined Reynolds had previously been banned from the property. She was arrested for public intoxication and criminal trespass and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
