Ruston High’s volleyball squad took another trip south to take on some stiff volleyball competition this past weekend winning two of four matches on the road.

“Our trip down south was exactly what we hoped it would be,” Ruston high head coach Mandy Cauley said. “We faced experienced, fast paced teams. Overall we played very well. We learned that we need to work on a few aspects of our game and I’m excited to get to work. I saw a lot of great things from the girls and I know they have big goals for this season.”

Ruston lost to Episcopal School of Acadiana first on Friday by final scores of 15-25, 25-27 and 19-25. The next morning, the Lady Bearcats beat Central of Baton Rouge 25-14 and 25-19, and then beat Episcopal 25-23 and 25-7.

Finally, Fountainebleau would best Ruston 13-25, 12-25.

The Lady Bearcats will be busy this week with three matches– two of which will be on the road.

Ruston will travel to West Ouachita tonight and then return home Tuesday, Sept. 12, for West Monroe.

Finally, the Lady Bearcats will head to Loyola on Thursday, Sept. 14.
