The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Dubach man for his second DWI charge early Sunday morning.
Billy M. Fitts, 56, was allegedly observed traveling on U. S. Highway 167 in the turning lane instead of a regular lane. When he was stopped, deputies detected an odor of alcoholic beverage and saw an open container on the front seat.
Fitts initially refused to roll down his window but after he was directed out of the car, he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested.
A breath test was given at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center with results of 0.219g%, over two and a half times Louisiana’s legal limit. Fitts was booked for second offense DWI, open container, and improper lane usage.
