Speeder arrested after refusing to stop

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Farmerville man after receiving a report of a vehicle traveling at a high speed on La. Highway 33 about 3 p.m. last Monday.

A deputy passed a gray Volkswagen southbound on La. 33 matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The deputy activated his lights and siren, but the Volkswagen continued south, turning on Celebrity Drive and continuing without stopping. Eventually the vehicle stopped off Reynolds Drive behind the Graham Shopping Center.

The driver was told to exit the vehicle, but he kept telling the deputy to calm down and refused to exit. When the driver was taken by the wrist, he exited the vehicle and was arrested.

Rodney C. Kesee, 27, first said he did not see the deputy and then said he did not stop because he had emotional issues. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for careless operation of a vehicle and flight from an officer.
