Non-student found with marijuana on campus

A Monroe man was arrested on the Grambling State University campus early Sunday morning after he was found with a large quantity of marijuana.

Keyontae R. Blunt, 19, and another man were stopped by a GSU police officer about 2:00 a.m. Sunday when they were spotted walking onto the closed campus during a curfew. When asked for GSU ID cards, they both patted their pockets as if they were searching for them before admitting they were not students.

Both said they had parked off campus. During the course of the investigation, a search of the car revealed a backpack containing three large bags of suspected marijuana. Blunt was found with a large amount of cash in his pocket.

Blunt claimed the backpack and was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

Bail was set at $20,000.
